About Hoiwa

Finnish healthcare competence, brought to the world.

Hoiwa is an award-winning Finnish company with a simple ambition: to raise the competence — and the standing — of nurses through education. Finland is known for high-quality healthcare and high-quality education. We want that quality to reach the people who deliver care every day, wherever they work.

Founded in Finland · Training teams in Malaysia and Indonesia

Why we do this

Medication is where a small mistake travels fastest, and where the person at the bedside carries the most responsibility with the least visible support. We think education is the most practical place to start changing that.

Competence that can be shown

Learning, practice and assessment each leave their own record. Competence becomes something a nurse can point to — not just claim on a CV.

A profession with standing

Nurses carry real responsibility for patients every day. Rigorous education and honest assessment are among the quickest ways to give that responsibility the recognition it deserves.

Finnish quality, shared

We were formed in a system where healthcare and education are expected to work well for everyone. We are now carrying that approach to the countries that need it most.

Why Finland is our starting point

Finland is known for two things that belong together: a healthcare system built on evidence and trust, and an education system where teaching is a respected, highly qualified profession and learning is open to everyone regardless of background.

Those habits shape how we build courses: clear objectives, worked examples, practice that gives real feedback, and assessment that tells the truth. It is the same approach we now bring to healthcare teams in Malaysia and Indonesia.

Stated honestly

  • Finnish practice is our background, not a credential: Hoiwa MedSafe holds no regulatory accreditation in Malaysia, Indonesia or elsewhere.
  • Collaboration with education and clinical partners in each country is planned, not yet confirmed.
  • Completing a course here does not authorise clinical practice; practical competence is always signed off by a qualified assessor.

Recognition we can point to

Hoiwa’s work was recognised with the Productive Idea 2022 award — a Finnish acknowledgement of turning a genuine need into a working solution. The recognition was displayed on the Nasdaq MarketSite in New York.

We mention it because it says something about how we work: the idea came from healthcare professionals who were tired of competence being invisible, and the company was built to make it visible.

How we work

The same rules apply to every course we publish, whether it is used by one nurse or one hospital.

01

Healthcare professionals write it

Every module is prepared by healthcare professionals and reviewed by a medication-care educator and a clinical expert before it is used in official training.

02

Local rules and local references

Practice differs by country, so course references are prepared separately for Malaysia and Indonesia instead of one generic version.

03

No shortcuts, no self-approval

Nobody can certify themselves or approve their own content. A verified assessor signs off practical work, and every decision is recorded.

04

Nothing invented

We do not claim partnerships, accreditations, awards or testimonials that we cannot document. What is not yet in place is stated as not yet in place.

Where we are going

We started with medication competence, because that is where an error reaches a patient first. From there we are building the wider competence pathway for healthcare teams: learning, practice, assessment and renewal, in one record a nurse and an employer can both trust.

Our first markets are Malaysia and Indonesia. We aim to make training accessible in Malay and Indonesian, with clear, documented competence records. Each new country means new local references, qualified reviewers and assessment arrangements — so we move market by market rather than all at once.

If you lead a team and want your nurses’ competence to be visible, documented and renewed on time, that is exactly the conversation we want to have.
